7 Habits of Highly Effective People

Dr. Stephen Covey

I first read this book back in 1998, and it was the foundation for much of the positive change I have experienced in my life. This is a book that you will read, put on your bookshelf, but you will refer back to it over time because the content unfolds in your mind over time. The principles in it are timeless. Much of the information between the front matter of the book and Habit 3, made some positive change in my life almost effortless. Dr. Covey did this by explaining things we already know and adding depth and real understanding to them.

12 Rules For Life

Dr. Jordan B. Peterson

When I read this book, I had already listened to a significant amount of Dr. Peterson’s videos on YouTube, and the book brought it all together for me. There was significant value in all of the rules. The rule that was really timely for me was rule two. “Treat yourself like you are someone you are responsible for helping”.

A New Earth

Eckhart Tolle

This book represents the third way in which I was introduced to the one thing that has contributed to a real transformation in my life. Our subconscious mind is playing thoughts over and over that hold us back from having a fulfilling and successful life. This book does an excellent job at practically explaining how living in the present moment can help you create a better quality of life.
